Trinity College, College Street, Dublin 2
Trinity college was founded in 1592 and is today home to the Book of Kells, a 9th century illuminated manuscript the books of Durrow and Armagh and an early Irish harp. Many a great graduate attended Trinity College such as Jonathan Swift and Oscar Wilde.
Dublin Castle, Dublin 2
Dublin castle was built about 1204 by King John of England and a tour of this magnificent Castle is a must. Today it is a venue for visiting Heads of State, EU presidencies, state banquets and important conferences.
National Museum of Ireland, Kildare Street, Dublin 2
The museum first opened its doors in 1890 and today contains artefacts dating from 7000 BC to the 20th century. which include The Treasury, featuring examples of Celtic and Medieval art such as the famous Ardagh Chalice, Tara Brooch and the Derrynaflan Hoard.
Probably the best way to see and learn about Dublin city is to join the hop on, hop off bus tour in the city. This tour allows you to purchase a one day ticket which will take you along to all the tourist attraction and you can hop off at whatever attraction you wish to visit and join the tour again later, brilliant!
